About Me:
I am a dedicated photography enthusiast, capturing over forty thousand images annually. Frequently approached with inquiries about purchasing sports action images, this website serves as the hub for such transactions.
Print production is entrusted to the professional photography website Smugmug (smugmug.com), handling all financial aspects. I never have access to credit card or other financial information. Smugmug seamlessly forwards print orders to BayPhoto, a renowned quality printing company.
Currently, available print sizes are 4x5 inches, 8x10 inches, and 16x20 inches. Buyers understand that the images are sold "as is," with no control or responsibility for the printing process.
With a photography passion spanning over thirty-four years, I strive for an "up close and personal" approach to my images. Each photo is captured with the goal of transforming it into a 16-inch by 20-inch wall poster. I meticulously optimize each image for cropping to enhance action, color, and light balance. My workflow, though time-intensive compared to quick social media images, prioritizes quality over expediency. I bring a robust knowledge of Photoshop and Premier to my workflow for custom projects.
Originally from the Seattle region, I moved to Sacramento in 1984. While my primary focus is on wrestling at the high school and college levels, I work across all sports. I've had the privilege of photographing college football games at prestigious universities and capturing national rowing and track and field championships. While I mainly operate in the Sacramento area, I am open to nationwide collaborations.
Photographers, like all individuals, have unique life experiences that evolve with age, career, and family obligations. Athletes choose how to document their careers, and despite the appeal of social media posts on cell phones, they represent only 1% of the file size of a high-quality photograph and cannot be enlarged to a wall poster. Athletes often underestimate the importance of preserving their photo files during their prime.
My priority is delivering quality images, acknowledging that my workflow may take longer due to other professional obligations. I appreciate your collaboration.
Sincerely, Randy Martin
